BOOK NOW!

Your Bronze Duke Of Edinburgh Expedition is one of the simplest parts of all three levels of the DofE Award. Yet, somehow, for many it is also one of the most stressful and worrisome! Most young people have never done anything like a DofE Expedition before when they embark on their Bronze Expedition. This can cause a huge amount of anxiety for both the young people and their parents.

When you book with Jurassic Watersports, our number one goal is to remove every ounce of stress and anxiety for both the young people joining us and their parents back home. We do this by making the booking process as stress free and simple as possible, providing detailed joining instructions and kit lists and being easily contactable to answer any questions and solve any worries at all stages of the booking process.

Once a young person has joined us for their expedition, both them and their parents can rest assured that they will be well looked after by a team of experienced Expedition staff, working for a Duke Of Edinburgh Award Approved Activity Provider, fully insured and licenced by AALA.

Training/Practice

Book Now!

Thanks to the new changes, we can now run training and practice rolled into one. Meaning you now spend only 2 days with us, but our team of instructors will be working with you throughout the entire 2 days. This helps ensures that participants are well prepared for a unsupported Qualifying and makes successful completion a far more likely outcome.

Training includes practical navigation training, route planning, cooking and stove
safety, basic first aid and camp craft. Every aspect of your expedition is covered so that you are completely confident in your ability to pass your expeditions. We will help you to ensure you are equipped with all necessary equipment, before you set off on one of our tried and tested routes, along with one of our team of Instructors. Our practice routes have all be specifically chosen to be challenging enough to help develop skills, without being overwhelming. On completion of expedition, your Instructor will give you and your team a full debrief, ensuring any questions or worries are sorted and you are fully prepared to take on your Qualifying Expedition.

Qualifying

The Qualifying Expedition is a 2 day and 1 night, self-sufficient Expedition. We will follow a similar routine to your practice Expedition. You will meet your Instructor team and expedition group, your Instructor team will carry out a full kit check and set off on your route. Supervision during the qualifying expedition is conducted with a more remote approach, letting you and your group figure it out together, with our team only stepping in when needed. However, our team we still carry out multiple check points and may even walk into see you at various point along your route.

On completion of the Qualifying Expedition, your team will deliver your Expedition Aim Presentation to your Assessor who will then sit down with you and run through a full debrief, where they will also discuss your next steps and begin to set you off on your route to Silver. After your expedition, your Assessor will upload a full Assessors report, direct to your eDofE account.

We will try and rebook you in as soon as is convenient for you.

We offer a 7 day cooling off period. If you decide to cancel within days of booking we will offer a full refund. (This is only if none of the following conditions apply)

Over 30 days before Expedition:

If you cancel your expedition more then 30 days before the expedition start date, we will do our best to either move your booking, or offer a refund. However, we may only be able to offer a refund of 50%.

Under 30 days until Expedition:

Any cancelations made less than 30 days before your Expedition start date are not eligible for a refund. That being said, if it is possible, we will offer to move your booking.
